Beautiful Jesus Part 4 – The Promise of Power (6/8/25)

Pentecost – a Jewish Feast Day celebrated by 1st century Jews commemorating when Moses met God on the mountain. God descending in fire and glory, writing His law on tablets of stone and giving the blueprints of the tabernacle so that He could dwell among His people. 50 days after the crucifixion of Jesus, 120 disciples were gathered in the upper room, hiding and celebrating Pentecost (Feast of Weeks) when suddenly the Holy Spirit showed up with the sound of a mighty roaring wind and fire, writing the law of love and liberty on the hearts of God’s people and taking up residence in each believer! This event of being baptized in the Holy Spirit took Peter from a prideful, self-centered man who fell by denying Jesus – this same Peter preached the Gospel boldly to the very same people he was terrified of just 7 weeks before. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit to be witnesses of Jesus – to testify of what we have seen and heard, to testify of what Jesus has done in our lives! Learn more in this sermon, “Beautiful Jesus Part 4 – The Promise of Power.”
